At Wonder Kids, we recognise, value and embrace the diversity of our wānau and community through working with and alongside our tamariki, engaging in the korero and learning experiences that drive and acknowledge their individual learning and their cultural identity. We believe that the foundation for a child’s learning comes from knowing who they are and what tools/experiences/environments we can explore to nurture and strengthen their love for learning.

We aim to surround our tamariki with the love for literacy and numeracy through tuakana-teina relationships and positive role modelling. By providing our tamariki with warm and nurturing rituals and opportunities, we engage in the strengthening of their holistic learning and development. Through these actions, we aim to engage and incorporate equitable opportunities to have respect for ourselves, others and our natural, social and physical environment. We believe that our tamariki are a special taonga and we acknowledge that all our tamariki have the potential to succeed.

As a team, we are committed to developing and maintain reciprocal, responsive and honest relationships with our tamariki, parents, whanau and community. It is the collaboration of all akonga, that is vital to ensuring success for our tamariki and it is our belief that our role is to prepare our tamariki for the ever-changing world, to develop competent and capable children who will be active participants within our evolving society.

Furthermore, we encourage growth, and we are committed to continuous quality improvement through utilising of internal evaluation to strengthen our practises, our environment and ensure positive learning outcomes for all tamariki. Our kaiako draw guidance and inspiration from Te Whāriki, the Early Childhood Education curriculum with additional support from Ministry of Education documents e.g. He Pou Tataki, NELPS, Tataiako and Te Whatu Pokeka to tautoko our processional practice when working with and alongside our tamariki.
